Barbara Kuczynski, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist that specializes in cataract surgery, glaucoma and comprehensive ophthalmology. In addition to these, she has extensive experience in the management of patients with other ocular diseases including dry eye disease and diabetic eye disease.
Dr. Kuczynski recognizes the value of getting to know her patients individually and developing a personalized approach to their care. The ability to build these long-term patient relationships paired with the opportunity to restore one’s vision and improve their quality of life is what interested her in ophthalmology.
Dr. Kuczynski earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine where she graduated near the top of her class. She completed her internship and residency in ophthalmology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI where she now teaches ophthalmology residents. In addition, Dr. Kuczynski is an associate clinical professor at Oakland University William Beaumont Medical School.
Dr. Kuczynski has been interviewed numerous times for television and radio sharing her expertise in certain areas of ophthalmology. Throughout her 25 + year career, she has presented to her peers on various ophthalmic topics and has contributed to several research studies and articles. Dr. Kuczynski is a member of many professional organizations including the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Michigan Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons.
Outside of caring for patients, Dr. Kuczynski enjoys golf, boating and travel.
